Moderately Fun Facts About Triple Down

Triple Down Records was launched January 1, 2008 by Sami Jano and Ron Wilde. They quit their real jobs and started a fake one.

The Triple Down is a secret handshake known only to a select few that has been in existence for approximately 18 years.

Ron came up with the name, Sami came up with the logo.

We like to keep it in the family. All art created for Triple Down over the years has been done in collaboration with people in the know, friends and the such. Album art, show posters, limited-edition posters, physical packaging design, you name it.

The first record Triple Down released was The Music to the Pacific and Eddy. A friend was prouducing the film, and asked if we knew anyone to release the soundtrack. It features Nikki Sudden‘s last recorded music.

Triple Down’s catalog is non-genre specific. We’ve released a soundtrack, indie rock, semi-automatic shoegaze, left-field electronic, math rock, prog-ish folk rock, folk-esque rocketeering, instrumental piano journey rock, more indie-rock and Chilean infused compositional goodness.

The next set of releases will be the March 6 debut LP from South South Million and an April 10 debut EP from another new artist, Matte Wood.

We recently pressed some tasty translucent purple vinyls of Adam’s Castle’s Vices.

Adaledge is finishing up a new single, “Superglue”, as well as a follow-up EP to 2010′s Vintage Feelings.

Me You Us Them is busy at work on a new EP expected Spring 2012.
