March 6th: South South Million “Wind Hand Caught in the Door”

Well, it’s 2012 and according to the plan we are all gonna die this year, so we’ve decided to put out the best record we’ve heard in a great while. Fuck it.

SSM’s Wind Hand Caught in the Door is a passionate, chill, and completely genre-less piece of modern musical art. It sounds great and, more importantly, FEELS great on first listen. Then, like any new romance, it slowly injects itself into your thoughts and everyday affairs, bringing out the classroom daydreamer in you. A lyric here, a melody there, a weird accordion in that one song, the odd flute solo in that other song. You begin to chase the sounds by listening to the whole album again, then it is full blown obsession. How did they do that? Is that real? Or is it a sample? Is that Trevor or Dan singing (mostly both)? The lines gets so blurred, but it doesn’t even matter, because the feeling it gives you is so fucking cool (like french cigarette smoker cool).

As you can tell, we at TDR have our hands on it already, and are pretty damn excited. We are honored to be releasing it on March 6th, 2012, digitally worldwide. For now, you can check out the first two tracks below, and head to southsouthmillion.com, where you can join the email list to get the album free on March 6th.
